Dani, a lovely wedding planner, invited me to write a blog about wedding venues in Melbourne three years ago. She asked, "Hi, Nick, could you give me a recommended list of the best wedding venues in Melbourne? I have some clients asking me the same questions, and I wish I had something from an expert to show them."

I'm Nick, a humble wedding photographer based in Melbourne. I knew there were many wedding blogs on this topic, such as Easy Weddings and Wedding Diaries. I didn't want to repeat what others had written. If I can’t write a better blog about wedding venues than predecessor writer, I won’t roll my pen. So, I declined Dani's request.

Three years later, at an engagement party last week, Chloe, a friend I've known since high school, asked me for guidance on wedding venues in Melbourne.

Chloe, with her beautiful eyes and kind heart, asked, "Hi, Nick. Can you write a blog of the top 20 wedding venues in Melbourne? Matt proposed to me last Christmas."

I hesitated and mumbled, "Um... I..."

Chloe suddenly punched my head and said: “Don’t be silly, Nick. Dani told me you used the same reason to refuse her."

"Yes, I did," I confessed.

Chloe said, "Nick, you are the best wedding photographer in Melbourne. You have a lot of experience shooting at various wedding venues. You have firsthand knowledge about their services, the best photo opportunities, capacity, and even the prices."

Chloe's attitude and practical suggestion touched me deeply. I knew I had no excuse to refuse her.

I decided to write a blog about wedding venues in Melbourne.

Dani, if you happen to read this blog one day, forgive me, my lady. I am writing this blog today not because Chloe has more privilege than you, but because I wasn't ready three years ago.

My dear reader, whether you are a bride like Chloe or a wedding practitioner (photographer, florist, planner, etc.), this is my TOP 20 wedding venues in Melbourne list. Drawing from my seven years of experience as a wedding photographer and six months of research, I have created this guide. As professional photographers, our experience at Luminare was disappointing. Despite being hired for a wedding reception, we were treated disrespectfully from the start. While guests enjoyed a lavish meal, our vendor table was neglected, receiving no food at all. When we raised this issue, the staff showed no interest in addressing it. We advise potential clients to reconsider using Luminare, as our experience reflects poorly on their hospitality towards vendors.

⭐☆☆☆☆As professional photographers, we've had the opportunity to work at numerous venues, but our experience at Luminare was beyond disappointing. Despite being hired to capture the special moments of a wedding reception, we were treated with a shocking level of disrespect.From the moment we arrived, it was clear that hospitality was not a priority for the staff at Luminare. While guests enjoyed tables laden with a variety of delicious foods, our table was entirely neglected. Not even a single piece of bread was provided for us. It's baffling that a venue, which prides itself on hosting elegant events, could overlook the basic courtesy of providing a meal for its working vendors.Our table stood in stark contrast to those around us—empty and barren while others overflowed with appetizers, main courses, and desserts. This glaring disparity wasn't just embarrassing, but also disrespectful to professionals who were working hard to ensure the event was beautifully documented.To add insult to injury, our attempts to address the issue with the staff were met with indifference. It's unacceptable to ignore the needs of those who contribute significantly to the success of the event.If you're considering Luminare for your special occasion, think twice about how they treat their vendors. A venue that cannot extend basic hospitality reflects poorly on the overall experience. We hope future clients and their vendors receive the respect and consideration we were denied.Such treatment not only diminishes the reputation of the venue but also leaves a lasting negative impression on all involved. We sincerely hope Luminare addresses these issues to prevent others from experiencing the same disregard.

She had our back and made our experience seamless. Every question asked, she would have a response within seconds. Every phone call was answered right away. Hidden Gem!!!Great floor space with amazing views over the city. The balcony is perfect for the indoor/outdoor space everyone is looking for. The large windows add the extra luxe feel. The space would work for just about any type of event.The sales (Ange) & venue team as so easy to work with, great ideas and nothing is a problem even custom food items. We picked metropolis events for our wedding ceremony and reception on 11 May 2024 and wowie what an amazing venue! The panoramic city skyline views truly made the night magical! The service from the staff on the night was impeccable and everything ran according to plan. Leading up to the event Yvonne was always there to answer our questions and accomodate all our requests! We recently hosted end of year Christmas party at Metropolis and the venue was beautiful!The highlight of the venue the large balcony that overlooks the Yarra River and the Melbourne CBD skyline, the view was lovely on the sunny day that our event was on.Thank you to Yvonne and Angela who made the event planning process seamless. Thanks also to the on the day event staff who were very attentive.

Beautiful location, views of the yarra and the city. Large glass windows provide plenty of light. The corporate event attended had almost 400, mostly standing, for 3 and a half hours. Canapes were alright - fried chicken bites, tuna soft tacos, fried sweet potato balls, gnocchi bowls, fish and chips boxes, pizza slices. Waiters were happy to serve and did the rounds well. 4 alcoholic drinks - wine and beer. Non alcoholic drinks - 1 mocktail and soft drinks with lemon lime bitter and ginger ale included. Small outdoor balcony space available. Coat rack and some inbuilt seats near the bar available. Security at entry at the bottom of escalators. Not sure if toilets were available inside.

Attended an event at Metropolis recently and found the venue cosy, bright and spacious due to its high ceilings. Food was pretty good; glazed ‘cherry’ dessert was lovely though the black angus eye fillet was a little dry. Coffee was amazing and staff were friendly.

As stunning as its view, as grand as its reputation. It was a modern and classy facility, with well trained staff, very clean, fantastic views from any room and easy to get to. The food was also wonderful and quirky in a good way! I attended for a wedding. It's definetely the perfect location for a dream wedding. The only thing I, and lots of guests commented on, was the fact that there was a ticketed parking lot.

Where has the giant carousel gone...? They're used to be a very large turn table in the middle of the main floor, but it seems to have disappeared...But this is still one of my favourite venues to shoot wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions. I see that the brides and grooms love the experience. Especially the views :)

Great location, right in Southbank. Easy access to the city centre, Botanic Garden, NGV, theatre's, The Lume. All within walking distance. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The rooms are older looking in decor but clean and welcoming. The heating and cooling is a little difficult to get right. Can't cook the room down enough for sleeping, but it was comfortable. River views are great. Breakfast at the Langham is a must add to your stay. Beautiful food, set up to enjoy again and again. Had a great stay with my Mum. Thank you

Loved the food at Buffet. The Naan bread and Indian cuisine was outstanding. Food was so delicious and Chef Mr. Bhatt cooked the food so good. He is a Very passionate guy about his food and a down to earth person. I will definitely be coming back for more. Sushi station was really good setup. The langham was wonderful. The food was fresh and delicious. The seafood was delectable. Loved the different cuisines they had to offer. The staff offered A1 service, they make you feel at home. I love it all the times I have been. Only one thing I could say is the price. It has considerably gone up in price making an outing more far apart than old times. I understand inflation and cost of living but I think pricing is a tad bit too much. Apart from the price it's a 10 out of 10.

Loved staying here the bed was so comfy, view was great. We had a standard king room. Buffet breakfast was delicious so many choices, we went at 8am so we didnt have to wait.Only issue I had was the power points are on floor level in the skirting boards and if you have a plug that points down it will not fit in, same goes for the power point where the coffee pod machine is wont fit there either, only place i could plug in was in the bathroom. Service was good and friendly staff check in and out was very easy.

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. From the room service to the breakfast, we can't fault anything. Our room was spacious and clean with beautiful views. With a few choices to dine in house, you won't be disappointed. The buffet in The Melba is amazing, with so many choices, you won't leave hungry. Definitely recommend for comfort and convenience as it's situated along Southbank with plenty of bars and restaurants literally around the corner

They did a fabulous job for an event I attended. They were so attentive with food and beverages. The staff really did a fabulous job. I understand the food is down to the event organiser, so I will not comment on the food, but the staff made sure we had plenty, and they were consistently filling up our glass. Thinking they're the new kids on the block event producers and services, Showtime are very difficult to deal with. Having snapped up lucrative venues in Melbourne I'm giving unashamedly one ⭐️. You'll be be very disappointed with their communication, attitude and eventually complete no care attitude. If you want one of their venues expect everything I've outlined. Savannah , alongside her co producers ( fluff and puff) are pieces of work. Don't get stitched up. Look elsewhere for venues .

We recently hosted our wedding at State Library Victoria, produced by Showtime, and were initially impressed by the venue and Yas' attentive service. However, several significant issues arose that marred our guests' experience.One of the most disappointing aspects was the unexpected substitution of eggplant for lobster in the 8-course banquet served to our pregnant guests. Despite paying the full price, we believe this was unfair and a significant disappointment. Following up after the wedding, we were informed that the substitution was due to dietary concerns and that the option of lobster would have been provided if requested. While we understand the need for dietary accommodations, the lack of clear communication and proactive measures to ensure guest satisfaction were disappointing.Additionally, there were communication lapses regarding late-arriving guests and the wishing well setup. Some guests were not served due to an unfamiliar crossed-cutlery policy, and the wishing well table and decorations were not ready until just before guests arrived, despite being discussed weeks in advance.Furthermore, some of our guests reported that certain waiters and waitresses seemed undertrained. For example, they were asked to pay for alcoholic beverages, even though we had pre-paid for all drinks. This created unnecessary confusion and embarrassment.While the venue and Yas' service were commendable, the communication issues and service shortcomings significantly impacted our wedding day. We would recommend Showtime with reservations, especially considering the premium price point. Future couples should conduct thorough research and due diligence before booking with Showtime.

Have been here a few times now for work functions and enjoy my experience each time. Great to have the undercover outdoor area to catch up and certainly capture some moments out on the edge of the Yarra River as well with the beautiful Melbourne skyline backdrop.Staff consistently generally aren't engaging or positive which can take the gloss off a little.

Been to weddings here twice, during the night the place looks spectacular but during the day you can see the ceiling fittings coming through with the daylight and it looks like a backyard shed, if the premises was fully blacked out from the sun it would create a nicer ambience, it doesn't quite have that same allure as when it is set up for night functions. Catering was great though, better than most reception centers.

These people are amazing, They saved us and saved our wedding on 3 weeks notice!!!!We found ourselves without a venue after the previous one threatened to cancel our event if we didn't pay them another $6000 outside our contract (Rock Art Events).Alice worked until past 9:30 pm and found us three venues to view the next day. My husband and I had our wedding here a year ago, the night was magical with a few minor hiccups - coffee and tea weren't served, and some guests found that their meals weren't right but all in all everyone had a great time.The organisation of the team was wonderful, we had the luxury of dealing with Rachel and then moving onto Claire, when she moved on, and there was not much we had to worry about. The venue was amazing and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful day.Thanks team SEG, you guys were a breeze to deal with and thank you for the amazing venue.

Came here for a candlelight concert. Beautiful setting but the service and organisation could have been much much better. Strange that the bar was only serving wine and spirits, but not beers or cider. Ordering drinks was unnecessarily slow as they did not have their EFT machines ready.As for getting here, the best option is probably DFO South Wharf but it doesn’t come cheap. I parked across the highway which was free street parking and walked here, about 10 mins.

Sound during the speeches was poor, I had to walk away from my table to stand under a speaker, many people followed my lead, but many people said they couldn't hear the speeches. The DJ and music sound was also very disappointing. No golden oldies were played, but maybe that was the bride and grooms choice.

Great venue! But that's where the compliments stop I'm afraid. For 220 a head the food should have been better than pub grub! The alcohol was not allowed to be served neat, so I had my glass full of ice with a tablespoon of cognac poured over it! It's an insult. Why do I have to have it on the rocks! It ruins the flavour And waters it down! I can't believe someone can drop 40k on a wedding there and we're not even allowed to drink our drinks the way we want! If I had gone to a cheap pub I would have spent $40 on food per head and $100 on alcohol of which I can drink the way I want! This place is a scam! Stay away!

Picking a wedding location is one of the biggest decisions that we had to make when we decided to get married. We wanted something central to the city so that it was easily accessible for our travelling guests. We wanted our ceremony and our reception to be at the same location, and for the ceremony space to have both an open air and undercover option should we have rain on the day.The Crown Aviary ticked all of the boxes for us and some.Set on the roof of the Crown building, our ceremony backdrop was the city of Melbourne.The reception venue was well presented and was spacious for the number of guests that we had.The menu was delicious, and we received multiple compliments throughout the night. There was always a staff member on hand to attend the guests and to guide us throughout the day.We were so impressed with the amazing Wedding & Social Events Manager, Linley, who helped to bring it all together. From discussing our vision for the day, to menu tastings, to coordinating our suppliers and more, she was such an amazing support throughout the coordination of the event, and on the day.

It's been a year since we had our wedding ceremony and reception at Encore. The team were excellent with communication, recommendations and planning. The food was great, and accommodated dietary requirements. The venue itself is modern, neutral, open and does not need much to dress it up - especially with the sun setting on the sea. The venue has a huge capacity but there's also a divider which fits a smaller guest list - we had ~85 and it was just right. We planned on having our ceremony on the rooftop followed by the reception inside but the weather was not on our side! The team at Encore were efficient in setting up the ceremony and reception in the same space, on the same day. Encore St Kilda is the best option for a beach venue in Melbourne.

Got married last Sunday and it was amazing! Had heaps of compliments on the food served (especially the canapes), and how beautiful the venue was despite it raining and being typical Melbourne weather. Leticia was an amazing event coordinator and even on her days off we got responses from her colleague Niamh. Edward did a great job coordinating the event on the day and everyone had a blast! Great communication and everything was very easy as the team were on the ball. We had plenty of space for dancing, areas where people could chat, and areas for parents where needed. - such a stunning place to have a wedding with perfect photo opportunities but that was just the beginning. Natasha and Carleen helped plan our wedding over several months and were so great to work with. The day ran so smoothly. The food during the tasting and on the night was incredible, all our guest were giving us reviews the next day to say the same. We are at Cucina for breakfast. Beautiful venue food and price point. Wish they had a few more options for breakfast like a smashed avocado with chorizo maybe. But otherwise was stunning. The outdoor cafe is a great idea but the line was extraordinarily long and wasn't prepared to wait. May want to consider this from a service perspective on how to reduce wait times. No one likes standing in a line!

Cucina 3064 at Marnong Estate in Mickleham is the perfect place for a laid back, casual meal. The atmosphere is great, food is amazing, staff are outstanding and the views of the valley and vineyards are breathtaking. They are open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.

I recently visited Marnong Estate and had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the steak bursting with flavor. Pizza made for my liking. This is a hidden gem in the Northern Suburbs. We went there for wine tasting and we had a fantastic hosting by Alison who had a really good knowledge about not only the wines at Marnong but about wines in general and we learnt a few things. Apart from that we also enjoyed some nice wines with a cheese platter and breathtaking views. Would definitely be a highlight for our visiting friends and family.

Our event manager Natasha was amazing! We also loved the menu tasting.The Bride and Bridesmaids stayed in the cabins the night before and it was perfect. We were able to settle in and enjoy the venue before having everyone come to us the day of the wedding.Ourselves, our families and our guests could not fault the venue!We are still getting compliments on how great the food, wine, service and scenery were.We had our event in the Green Grove followed by the Woolshed.We will also not forget Heidi, who served our bridal table! What can I say other than AMAZING!!! The food, service, atmosphere and the amazing view. My sister has her wedding on the 9th of March. We had so much fun! We ate every single last bite of the amazing food!The steak had so much flavour it was incredibly delicious. The sword fish was moist and had an amazing taste. My fav dis was the king fish carpaccio.Everything was delicious and fresh!Our server was Kayla ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ an absolute superstar!The service was first class. My sister ordered her cake from brunetti which they forgot to deliver on the day. The beautiful staff member by the name of Kayla bought a cake in just so my sister had a cake to cut. Kayla was so professional, kind and sweet, she made my sisters day complete! I recently attended the private event of Burak and Talya, and I must say I was quite disappointed with the overall experience. The venue had a lot of potential, but several aspects of the event fell short of our expectations.As a guest, I didn't receive dessert, which was a major letdown.Furthermore, the drinks were also missing from our service, which is a basic expectation at any event. When we asked the staff for drinks, their rudeness and unhelpful attitude only made the situation more frustrating.The food, when it finally arrived, was another point of concern. Not only did it come out much later than expected, but the portion sizes were incredibly small. Really disappointing.

Avoid this place at all costs!!!Firstly, the customer service provided during the event was notably lacking in politeness and professionalism. Moreover, the issue of drinks not being served to the guests in a timely and efficient manner was a significant inconvenience and issue. Instead of receiving the anticipated service from the staff, my own brother and several guests had to take it upon themselves to serve drinks by repeatedly fetching them from the bar. I was charged $20 per head for soft drinks and had 1 glass the entire night although I asked multiple times to staff for more.We had desserts included in our package. Around 1/3 of our guests missed out on the desserts. I don’t understand how this is possible when I paid for 66 guests and we had exactly 65 guests turn up. I had multiple complaints that night from guests asking why there were no desserts for them.Additionally, communication with the venue is problematic. When we attempted to address issues and express our concerns, it appeared that our feedback was met with indifference, leaving us feeling unheard and undervalued as customers.The most significant breach of our agreement pertained to the seating arrangements. My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary with a glass of wine and a nice lunch. We were really excited to enjoy the lovely estate and then sit down for a bite. The booking process requested for a credit card number up front... okay, fair enough. We were 5 minutes early to our booking but were asked to come back when the "table was ready". Later, when being seated, we were put right next to a thoroughfare with an automatic door that kept opening every few seconds. Looking around, we noticed (and I counted) 10 other empty tables for two. I asked the waiter if we could be moved to a more suitable location, and they claimed that "they were full"... okay, fair enough. The meal was delicious, the wine was really nice, the automatic door was extremely annoying and the other tables... still empty. I can not fault the food but at least be accommodating to guests next time please.

The restaurant views at sunset and the ambiance was truly lovely. The service amazing. Enjoyed a lovely house Shiraz. Unfortunately the quality of food at a high price point, way off the mark and really disappointing. Has major appeal and potential, however the food needs to meet a desired standard. My husband and I had our wedding reception here recently and all in all it was a great experience. We both found wedding planning highly stressful, but the team at Vogue were helpful in working us through all the small details. We worked specifically with Trish, Alex and Chloe, who were all wonderful - Trish in particular was a huge help in responding to my many queries and accommodating our shifting needs. The wait staff were all great also!There were lots of sweet little touches from the team that both made our day easier and more special. I genuinely felt that our wedding was in good hands and that helped enormously with keeping my stress levels in check!In terms of the venue itself, many of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was, how much they enjoyed the food and generally that they enjoyed the evening. Where do I even begin?When my now husband and I began looking for venues for our reception we weren’t originally thinking the classy and elegant vibe that Vogue Ballroom provides. We had thought that a place such as this was way out of our price range due to its stunning picture perfect interior.However after having the most welcoming, heart warmly and low stress meeting with Trish our perception changed. Vogue Ballroom could provide everything we wanted and so much more for a very affordable cost. No hidden fees or charges and no secrets.The team were always on call whenever we had questions and would respond to calls, texts and emails quickly making what could have been the most stressful experience ever one that was easy, smooth and calm.As the day of the wedding got closer they took over communication with vendors and ensured that the whole day and night happened perfectly and had everything we dreamed.Upon arrival to the reception we were excitedly met with two of our amazing team members, Chloe and Alex, whom literally waited on us hand and foot, got anything we needed and jumped in with any requests. The space was beautifully set up on the day so much so that it exceeded our expectations and looked like a dream.I could not fault a single thing from Vogue Ballroom or the team. They catered to every request and even allowed us multiple times to visit to venue and practise dancing and just to suss the space. If we had to do it all over again we would with Vogue Ballroom.

Trish and the team at Vogue were nothing short of exceptional, with everything they did to make it the most fun and memorable wedding day ever.They brought my vision into reality and it couldn't have looked any more beautiful, I was speechless when they pulled the curtains back. They rolled with our theme seamlessly and from our first meeting with Trish, we knew we found our place, she was so warm and genuinely cared about us as a couple.Everyone had such a fun time and the feedback was incredible from all our family and friends about the venue. On the night the staff were super friendly and attentive, and everyone raved about the food. When we told a few people we were having chicken on the menu there was a pause and someone said it was risky...and they were all stunned the chicken turned out so juicy! Many people said it was easily one of the best weddings they had been to in decades and we are so grateful 🥰Phrases throughout the night I heard in passing conversation like "this place is a gem" and "this is what I call a reception" should make you guys proud of what an incredible family you have created at Vogue. Amazing venue! Everything was so organised and seamless from start to finish. Ashley was an amazing event coordinator and was so easy to communicate with. She was so helpful and made it really easy for us to stay on track. Our event host Stella was also very lovely! Unfortunately I was sick on our wedding day but the team was super accomodating and even made me a couple of saltwater gargles 😂. The venue and ambience was stunning and speaks for itself + there were also great spots for pics! Thank you to everyone at Leonda for hosting the wedding of our dreams!!

From the day my (now) husband and I walked into Leonda by the Yarra we knew this was going to be where we got married.We were looking for a small intimate space and the garden room looked to be the perfect size for our wedding. I made a simple online enquiry about the space and was warmly greeted by Melanie who was super enthusiastic about showing all Leonda had to offer.Melanie took great care in responding to the questions I had with regards to the Venue. On the first meeting we had, Melanie went through all the inclusions that Leonda had to offer, she really understood our culture and what we would value most on our wedding day.What stood out the most during our meeting was the offering of the Leonda's dedicated team.She was not wrong, our Wedding day coordinator Ashley Price went above and beyond with helping us get ready for the perfect wedding. There was no enquiry/request too big or small that Ashley would do her best to accommodate.Our guest felt immediately welcomed as they entered the space. The room was roaring with happy guest and loud conversations. We had nothing but the best experience with Leonda for our wedding last week. From the first meeting, through to the day, Leonda has been transparent, flexible, friendly, quick to respond, and overall exceptional. Kendall was amazing to work with and made our lives so much easier. Jen was also excellent on the night keeping everything on schedule, as well as the rest of the team. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here in the Garden Room.Melanie from Sales was amazing from the get-go, providing us all the information we needed to know before securing in our day and giving us a tour of the venue. Kendall and Zoe also communicated well with any questions we had and planning in the lead up. Jen our venue coordinator on the night went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly! We really did feel at ease with this incredible team. We didn't know this until we looked back at photos, but they even handed out bottles of water to our guests as it was a warm 30 degrees day! How thoughtful and we are so grateful!They ticked all our boxes of what we wanted in our venue choice and they turned our dreams/visions into a reality!

On Saturday 30/09 we passed with our dog on leash and someone asked us to not to pass public access path that leads to an underpass to the dog park as the young man notes the groom does not like dogs or allergic to dogs, whoever is this person that is able to dictate the terms of a public pathway. If it's a staff, they need more training. If they're guests, they should not be given the idea that they can redirect traffic because your guest don't like it.

Had my wedding here a little over a year ago and had the BEST experience. Not only were we supported at every stage during the lead up, but it’s very clear that every person involved really cares about the people who comes through their doors. From the moment we reached out to book a venue tour, through to when the big day was done, we were impressed at every step. This is clearly a business that has high standards, quality food (YUM!!), great service and is full of really genuine people. Plus the venue of course stunning. Absolutely recommend!! ♥️

Beautiful and modern function rooms overlooking the Yarra River.Service from staff was impeccable.Attended a wedding here, and found the venue stunning and bar well stocked with a wide variety of spirits.The food, on the other hand, was very ordinary and i felt very rushed. People on the table that had the chicken all complained how dry it was.I am sure you guys charge over $200 per person that meal was not worth even $20.Would i recommend it. I personally would not book a wedding there if the food is the same.

Fantastic venue that I would 100% recommend for any wedding. The venue is so beautifully set up that it really doesn’t require any additional decorations. Coordinated nearly every aspect of the event for us so that we didn’t have to, from the vendors to the setting up, to dealing with presents and left over belongings after. Everybody loved the food as well as how well dietary requirements were catered for. On the actual night service was simply immaculate and seamless. When it was all over we received beautifully packed leftovers and a thoughtful gift. For a stress-free wedding I would definitively recommend Leonda.

I organised a pre-booking view for the garden area behind the main reception on the phone with Lisa. She wouldn’t tell me any prices over the phone insisting I had to see it in person first. I asked whether they required a minimum spend, she said no they don’t. When I went to view it, the manager was there setting up and acted as if I was interrupting him, like he was in a rush, and I did not feel welcomed at all. He was very cocky ordering me to have a look and then go to reception. Very unfriendly, no social skills and told me they require a $12,000 minimum spend for 50 people for a banquet. This quote wasn’t even for a 3 course meal and not even in the main reception. I think it’s totally overpriced for Sunshine industrial area. The Langham in Southbank that’s 10 times better is a lot cheaper than this!

Plenty of parking on site. The venue is beautiful inside. However, we found the table is quite more for a 10 people. Some of the doors in both male and female bathroom aren't able to close which is very inconvenient. Hopefully the management will review on this and get this fixed ASAP.

Recently, I had a wedding at Sheldon Receptions. Everything was first class. It was the one function that all of the people who attended, had nothing but good things to say. The food was extremely tasty, plus the bar and wait staff were very efficient. Special mention must go the manager for the function, he was very professional, warm and ran a tight ship. Quat Quatta was the venue of our dreams, it was the first venue we visited and immediately we knew it was the one, we actually cancelled our other venue inspections afterwards and locked them in as soon as we can! The team at Quat Quatta are absolutely incredible and our guests are still raving on about how fantastic the service was. I first seen ballara well over 6 years ago and fell in love. The grounds are absolutely perfect. After a rocky start of being late, Loretta ensured everything would be ok and walked us through everything. My husband and I just wanted to seal the deal after already raising a family. I wouldn’t do it anywhere else. The guests have raved about the food and how beautiful the chapel was. But weddings aren’t done in a day and from the very first moment we booked we had so much communication from Ballara and the team. So many e-mails giving us pointers on so many things. Loretta couldn’t have been more attentive in ensuring we had everything we needed. I think my husband only said that the drinks were coming out slow but he and his mates can drink so that wouldn’t be hard. It went so fast I wish I could’ve taken more in and enjoyed how amazing the venue was a little longer. Thank you again.

Wow. I could not have pictured a more perfect day. Loretta, Jan, the chefs, bride attendant, everyone was perfect. The food was incredible, the organisation, the care they take with you, the options. Everything is so carefully thought out and everything was seamless. I still can’t believe how perfect the day was even though I decided to move into the chapel at the last minute. They are prepared for everything and didn’t bat an eyelash. The venue is stunning with hundreds and hundreds of beautiful photography scenarios, close to the city, immaculate gardens, ample parking, everything in one place, beautiful wait staff and food, so many options to customise it to your day exactly, a gorgeous bridal room with a separate toilet which I appreciated so much and they even went out of their way to get me a specific drink! We had our wedding reception at Manor on High in March '24 and it was absolutely incredible. We picked the Georgian Room. The staff throughout our planning were incredibly helpful. Shane & Andrew were both so so great, and the wait staff on the day were lovely. Everything went smoothly. Considering it was a 38 degree day - I can tell you the air conditioning definitely works! A great wedding venue. Have arranged/ attended dozens of events over a couple of decades and never disappointed Professional, efficient and unpretentious. Doesn’t cost an arm and a leg (actually on second thoughts everything these days costs at least an arm😢.Have two large halls. Can comfortably cater for 375 guests, can squeeze in another 100+ if you have no need for the large central dance floor. Have well appointed bridal rooms with private facilities. Very accommodating of special needs (like a prayer room).Nice kitchen. Food is quite reasonable if you get them to cater (that’s what I’d recommend, they also do allow outside caterers if you prefer. My suggestion go with their menu, if you want to add a personal touch order in a special desert or an entree or even a side. They are happy to serve that). One of their better kept secrets is the coffee room at the back. They are happy to brew you a cappuccino or a latte or an expresso any time of the evening. In these days of multitasking not everyone is a great barista, but apart from the coffee connoisseur most people won’t know the difference. Once the secret is out the coffee room gets mobbed! Got to know some of the names and some of the faces of the staff over the years. (Andrew you did a great job last night under pressure, whipping up those cappuccinos!). Bruno looks a bit menacing, but he’s a great soul and happy to sort out any last minute special needs (I suppose you need to look a bit stern, if have to get the floor service moving like clockwork!). Thanks again for another well run event.

This place is really good and spacious. Went to a wedding reception this year after Easter and the Grand Ballroom can easily fit more than 300 guests. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is delicious.For those planning a reception or ceremony of any kind, i would recommend this place.The only downside is that it is in Epping and can be daunting for those who live in outer east Melbourne to get there, but it is worth it.

I was here in the Grand Ballroom for an expected 300 seated wedding reception. I think maybe 200 turned up?The venue is great, lots of space and staff are nice. Facilities are clean.The food is ok, the fish entree was a bit dry and one of the mains was roast chicken, it was a bit boring tbh a whole lot of chicken with very little to go with it. I had the rib eye steak which was huge and cooked perfectly or was it a lamb chop? 😂🤷🏽‍♀️However, servings are generous and the initial sharing platters prior to the 3-course meal were very good (esp the Turkish bread and dips 😍)

We hosted our son's christening last week in the Poolside room.Needless to say, our experience (and those of our guests) at Meadowbank was excellent. The food was plentiful and utterly delicious and the service was prompt. In the lead up to the event, Daniella and Chris were very professional, accommodating, and easy to deal with and there was transparency across all facets of our engagement with them. The room was set up beautifully and the event ran smoothly with no hiccups. Our guests left the venue contented with full bellies. On behalf of my husband and I we would like to thank the team at Meadowbank for making our boy's day so special.I should add that we were return customers to Meadowbank, having hosted our wedding in the Grand Ballroom some 6 years prior.It is a testament to the team at Meadowbank that we had such a positive experience following our wedding in 2018 that we returned to host our son's christening 6 years later. I attended a wedding at Meadow Bank Estate and was very disappointed. The staff served food with an allergen to the groom’s sister, even though they were told about her allergy beforehand. She had a severe reaction and had to be hospitalized, which really affected the celebration.It’s unacceptable for a venue to be so careless with food allergies. They need to take better care of their guests and make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Just had our wedding reception at Lakeside in the Lakeview Ballroom on Sunday 29/July/2018, and my new bride and I would like to say a huge Thank You to Brad, Stacey, and especially Domenic who helped make an extremely stressful occasion run so smoothly, from the moment we entered and saw the set up of our reception til the time we left in the hummer. Our Family & Friends haven’t stopped talking about our Wedding lol we’re still hearing about how much fun they had, how awesome the quality of the food was, how attentive the staff were, and how much they loved the whole look of the ballroom and atmosphere at Lakeside. We had Lamb Salad & Pork Belly for entree, Scotch Fillet Steak & Atlantic Salmon for main, Chocoholic Trio for Dessert and Pizza for supper and honestly that was well above restaurant quality eating. It’s not easy cooking for 250+ people and to get it spot on for everyone? Hats off to the Chef 👌🏽. We had Domenic as our MC for the night and the man definitely knows how to hype up a crowd and keep the night flowing. We can’t express enough how Grateful we are for all the help we received from you all especially the last minute things. I would 💯% recommend Lakeside to any and everyone because you definitely made our special day feel just that. We will definitely be back for our future events. Absolutely love it. Got married here in 2022 and it was great being back and being relaxed and enjoying the day. Had dinner and breakfast there. We will make this a yearly tradition and go back yearly for our anniversary. The dinner was 5 stars it was fantastic, and the buffet breakfast was amazing as well. The girl who made the mocha on Sunday morning was the best mocha I've ever had (I had to go back for 2nds)

High roof line and huge windows.Staff were very helpful and were present when required.The separation of guests allowed a degree of privacy.Food was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful.The shiraz was very much too our liking.Overall a wonderful experience.Would very much like a repeat. :)

Beautiful place, poor food, poor service. Most of the food were lack of flavour and under-seasoned. We asked twice for plates to share the mains after the mains were served, and plates were cold. Duck breast was undercooked. Dessert was a joke. We were not allow to take away any food that we couldn't finish, because they didn't have their 'take away license'?! On top of that, It cost you $95/head. This is so embarrassed and disappointed. Not coming back again for sure.

Terrible customer service. Our wedding venue cancelled our booking so we have been trying to find a venue asap. I called them 4 days in a row trying to follow up with when we would be contacted and every day was “today or tomorrow”.We went in and the receptionist was no where to be seen. We had to go to the cafe to ask for someone to help us to which they said the receptionist would meet us back at the office. We waited there for 5 minutes, if not longer, then she finally came in blasé and was rude and not sympathetic to our situation at all. Basically scoffed us away so we didn’t even bother looking around the venue.

Went for a Sunday lunch fixed price menu. The food was nice enough however the person that greets you at the door tries to guess how much money you may have. If I ask for a table, then the next course of action should be to find me one. Not direct us to a couch with a menu to ponder if it's within the budget. Service was a little inattentive concentrating on larger groups.

Attended a wedding event here and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The chapel, the pavilion and barn were all gorgeous and made for an enjoyable experience.The staff were all wonderful and service was amazing.Unfortunately the food wasn’t up the same standards. Whilst it presented well, the flavor profiles didn’t mesh and most dishes were under-seasoned and quite disappointing.

Jack Rabbit boasts stunning bay views and impeccable food. It’s a must visit when on the Bellarine peninsula and a reasonable day trip for lunch from Melbourne. Even if you aren’t a wine lover I would recommend dining purely for the delicious crispy chats. Everything we ate was exceptional and given the quality the price point was value for money.There are a few fine dining style menu items; quail, kangaroo, venison etc but if you prefer simple fare the eye fillet is sublime and the dark chocolate dessert flawless. All elements executed to perfection and working in perfect harmony. I couldn’t fault the meal

This is definitely THE place to get married. You have so many spots for photographs and also one of the nicest indoor locations to have a ceremony in Australia. The staff are exceptional and the food and wine are top notch. Everyone had a wonderful time at my own wedding at Stones in 2016. And I always look forward to photographing other weddings at Stones of the Yarra Valley. I've photographed in UK, Italy, Maldives, Chicago, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and this is definitely one of the best places to get married in the world in my opinion.

We went on Melbourne Cup Day after booking. For the first time we were not in the main dining area but in the adjacent room. It ended up a better experience as the main area was really hot and stuffy on the day which would have been an issue. The food was delicious as usual and right up there with the best pizza and pasta you can get anywhere. Loved the pepperoni pizza and the 2 pastas with seafood and fungi. To top it off the staff that looked after us were attentive with good advice on the food, and best of all super nice. Thanks Zonzo looking forward to next time.

Food was delicious and homely, the service was fantastic, great to see service with a smile and the estate looks pristine. Their Zoncello Limoncella spritz is a winner on a warm day. Food was AMAZING! The pizza was delicious and the bread was very tasty. The antipasto was also great with the prosciutto and spicy salami. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. I accidentally dropped my knife of the table and within TWO seconds, a waiter pick it up for me and bring me a new one. All the food was so filling and delicious, I could eat it everyday! All the food was quick to arrive especially the drinks. The view From my seat was incredible, especially seeing the vineyards over sunset. Would absolutely recommend!

I’d like to express my disappointment on our experience at your venue on Saturday 10th August.A group of four, booked to have a long lunch, taking the set menu option.We were extremely rushed. The waiters were inattentive. The food came out cold and quickly.We had to ask for clean plates and cutlery after our initial starters. We ordered a bottle of wine and our drinks were left empty.After our last course, no one came to us to see if we wanted more drinks/dessert. Left us there for the last hour of our two hour seating.We got up to pay at the counter and the manager (assuming) didn’t acknowledge us. Abruptly placed the eftpos machine in front to pay. No communication or eye contact what so ever.For the money spent, safe to say we will not be returning Zonzo and there certainly won’t be any recommending moving forward.

We went to Zonzo with a. Group of friends last Sunday and we got a table in the big shed outside, it was freezing and there are not enough heathers. When other tables were leaving empty the heathers were left there (they could have been moved closer to those people that were left).We had to go for a fix menu, two of us were lactose free and this was not taken in consideration at all- for the antipasti we had to ask for a lactose free option and the main was definitely not lactose free.I got my wine glass with wine in it taken away and the waitress/waiter were cleaning the table as much as possible pushing us out, would have been nicer to let us know they were closing instead. My friend got moscato with her cake and I was not given a glass, they count short of one glass so I did not get one. All over the atmosphere was freezing, service was not the best and I had chips and pizza (which was not too bad). Make sure you are not seated in there if it is full winter.

We attended as part of a group of 13 people, therefore we were forced to take the set menu, starting with antipasto, then pizza and then lamb shoulder/chips salad at $65 per person.My problem with the antipasto is that it did not include any cheese, and we were expected to pay extra to have cheese included. It would not have impacted Zonzo’s precious profits greatly if they included a piece of mozzarella cheese in the middle of each plate.The pizza was top notch.The final course, large pieces of slow-cooked lamb shoulder, chips and salad was a bit basic. Authentic Italian cuisine would have had the lamb imbedded in some flavoursome sauce accompanied with something like roasted potatoes and vegetables rather than just chips and salad. I would have preferred pasta options rather than meat.So overall, the location is great, the service was ok despite the staff appearing to be young kids, but I am not a fan of their set menu, it was basic and did not include any pasta.

The last time we dined we had a very good experience. Food was fabulous. Antipasto, Pizza's, Lamb, Salad and Roast Potatoes. A party of 4.This time we had a party of 6. Food portions were smaller than previously with the exception of the pizza's. Roast potatoes gone. Antipasto small. Small bowl of salad. Fried chips replaced the roast potatoes. Slow cooked lamb was ordinary. All between 6 people!What a shame as we were looking forward to enjoying the experience with close friends.Oh, and 1 hour and 45 minutes into our lunch experience. We were told to pay the bill and left no choice but to leave sharp on two hours of our luncheon. What happened to service, and quality of food!Over $540 spent. Not happy. Will not return.

Me and my beautiful partner went for dinner on “World Limoncello day” (pure coincidence) and we were very happy with the overall experience. Food was delicious, service prompt despite the fact that the venue almost was fully booked out. Best of all was the service by our fantastic waitress Jade. She was knowledgeable, personal, down to earth and efficient, she took this 8.5/10 experience and made it into a 10/10. Good service is KEY! We will definitely come back for our 3rd visit soon to see Jade and the team. Well done 🙏🏼👌🏼

We used to visit this venue quite frequently, but it has unfortunately devolved into an overpriced, unremarkable venue. Recently, we had lunch here with our entire family, paying approximately $60-$80 per person, and left feeling unsatisfied. The food lacked quality and quantity. While some staff members were commendable, they were unable to address our concerns. It appears that the management may be prioritizing profit over quality, resulting in a loss of the authenticity that once defined this place. It is quite disappointing, to say the least

A large group of us came to Zonzo Estate Yarra Valley to celebrate a birthday. We had caught a private minibus to the event, and were treated to a delicious set menu lunch. There was a wide spread of food including antipasti, pizza, bread, slow-cooked lamb, potato, chips, salad and more.It was a beautiful day, and we were treated to gorgeous views of the estate with blue skies and sunny weather.Unfortunately, after a few hours, we were effectively asked to leave the premise as they were preparing for wedding guests to arrive. I understand that venues may host several events in one day, however, we were not warned of this prior and some of us felt the staff could have approached this better. Once asked to leave, they also asked us to quickly skull our drinks from the glasses or transfer them into the provided paper cups. It makes me wonder if a fine estate really doesn't have enough wine glasses, or if they were trying to hasten us to leave. Personally, I found it a bit distasteful and not very accommodating.Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time overall at Zonzo, and I would consider utilising this venue for an event of my own. Thank you!

We had a table in the front area of Zonzo's. This area is of poor architecture because there is no sound proofing. Even at our own table we had to yell to hear each other. The area is really noisy.Although the food was tasty, it wasn't value for money. Pizza's are all $30+. The marinara pizza - what a joke! It comes with an anchovy on each slice, no other seafood.We ordered fries. They came to the table. We asked for tomato sauce....that came almost at the end of the fries and at a cost of $3:50 for approximately a tablespoon of sauce. Disgusting!Service was great, although one waitress did not know where to fill the wine classes to.Overall Zonzo did not meet my expectations for quality and cost.

Impressive. Real Italian food and taste, real food flavor is in all the dishes we ordered, the menu is enough and price is good ordered 4 dishes with a 2 starters 1 wine glass and 2 soft drink for 125$. The only thing is the shared setup could be a it noisy but the feeling that your close to other people makes it for me a comfort thing and nice. Forgot to take pics :)

Food is very bad. Pizza was lacking topping and most importantly flavour. The lamb and potatoes dish was lacking flavour also. Felt like no seasoning was used at all. Wine was very poor for a so called 'winery'. That quality of wine smears Australia's reputation as a New World wine region and would disgust some of the brightest winemakers in Victoria. Food and wine lovers do yourself a favour and stay away. This winery feels like a tourist trap, profiting off their rigid menus and beautiful sceneries which masks the horrors underneath. The only saving grace was its aperitif, limoncello that tasted slightly more authentic. Please do not be duped by the establishment positioning itself as a winery, it suits more of a wedding venue vibe.

I recently visited Yering Station Winery while on a Hen’s winery tour. The property was beautiful and had a great variety of wines. While we were there, we did a wine tasting session.The staff member (sorry I don’t remember her name) was very knowledgeable on both the wines we were tasting, as well as the history of the winery which was great to listen to and learn about.Overall I enjoyed the whole experience. I would come back here to try the food.

The lead up was so well organised, Emma was fantastic at keeping us up to date on what we needed to be doing and ensuring we were comfortable with everything too. On the day we were so lucky to have Sal running the show. He was absolutely incredible and went above and beyond in absolutely every aspect of the day. From constantly bringing me champagnes when I lost my glass to saving the day and knowing exactly how to button the bustle of my dress when the bridesmaids couldn’t quite work it out!The venue and location was perfect, staff were all fantastic and the food was as always incredible!

In the whole lead up Emma and the team at Zonzo were so helpful, providing a wedding preparation checklist, timely reminders and recommended suppliers. It really made the whole planning process as stress-free as possible. On the day, the atmosphere, food and whole vibe was just incredible. We had pizza con porcini and pizza alla salciccia and it was delicious.Do be prepared to share a communal table with another group if your group is small, however they allow enough space between the groups and you don't feel like the next group is just next to you.If the weather is good, sit outside and enjoy the beautiful sun and scenery.Bookings are absolutely a must especially on weekends as they are always booked out, and they take a small deposit for bookings.

Nice place, quite busy at lunch make sure to have reservation. Indoor seating is cozy but too noisy, outdoors is much better if weather permits. Order Pizza, slow cooked lamb and buratta (is it very odd that they charge you extra for some bread). Good in general was tasty and good quality yet the slow cooked lamb lack some flavoring or spices. Their wine is just fine, nothing too special.

Great food, great surrounds, great service! Dined here with a group of 10 for lunch. It was a set menu but with enough choices to keep everyone happy. The antipasto plates were excellent - we had a pregnant lady at our table, which the servers noted, so at their own initiative they offered a platter with substitutes for cold meat. The pizzas were excellent - highly recommend the pork and Fennell sausage option!Things we loved:- proactive service- great options for kids, including the pizzas served in colour-in pizza boxes!- wonderful food for each courseThings which could have been better:- fairly loud in the main room, but what made it difficult was we were at a very large circular table. A beautiful location and easy drive from Melbourne. Was frustrating that any party size. on Saturdays and Sundays must dine under the feed me menu as there were many other pizzas and starters we would have liked to try. The pizzas were crisp and generous toppings, the dough is very nice. However everything else just felt like a wedding reception, lacking flavour and for our antipasti board and gnocchi dish, it felt as though it had been sitting there for an hour or so and they just bring it out as soon as an order comes through. It did not feel freshly made to order.

A lovely place to have lunch. This popular wedding venue is also known for their wine and pizzas. The food was tasty and the service was good.Due to the long table format, diners share tables with others.We were seated inside and close to the kitchen and register. I found it rather dim in terms of the lighting. Those who were seated near the glass windows enjoyed the natural light from the sun like those seated outdoor.I would return even just for the tiramisu which was well made and delicious.Overall we had a positive experience.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Zonzo as a wedding venue or even just a must visit winery in the Yarra Valley!The whole team at Zonzo made our wedding day the most incredible day we could’ve asked for. Everything was on point, from the set up, food, drinks and staff.In the lead up to the wedding, Emma the wedding coordinator was amazing. Emails were answered extremely prompt and she was always willing to assist or advise with anything we requested.On the day, Salvatore was INCREDIBLE; we cannot thank him enough for everything he did to make the day go so smoothly!! From putting in my veil, sewing/pinning my dress after a mishap and making sure everyone was fed, had a drink in hand and having a bloody good time! Sal honestly took our night to the next level; he went above and beyond in every way possible.The food was one of the first selling points for us picking Zonzo as our wedding venue and it was even better on the day. If you’re after great tasting food, with a generous serving (where no one will go home hungry) - this is exactly what you’ll get at Zonzo. Highly recommend!!

Amazing experience at Zonzo Estate!The wine selection is very nice , we tried the red wine, rose and white wine .The view and the restaurant is beautiful.The staff very friendly even if it was very busy .We had the set menu at $70 . I would just say that $65 would justify the food better. The food is pub food , is delicious but not up to high standard . I don’t like lamb but I ate it and it was very nicely cooked and the sauce delightful.Inside the restaurant is quite noisy however the view is stunning and the decoration is adequate with the vineyard style .Thanks very much Zonzo for the Lunch .

What a beautiful place for food and drink, I would recommend the Spanner Crab Ravioli, it was so light yet had beautiful flavours! Zonzo is a wonderful estate, the inside of the restaurant has a very warm vibe and makes you feel at home. The wine is always delicious, and to make matters more exciting they are building another space for wine tastings alone. I will definitely be back

This was our first visit and we were very impressed by the view and atmosphere. We felt covid safe sitting outside overlooking the grapevine and the staff were very attentive and helpful, in particular a special mention to Nicholas who served us and was more than helpful and kind. The 3 course set menu was generous and was kid friendly as well. There was a separate kids menu and an obvious drinks menu that showcased the many Zonzo selections. Plenty of parking, 3 main sitting areas that we noticed (inside, outside and the stable). Super modern and a great place for a special group outing. Would definitely come back again.

Tatra Receptions is such a beautiful place and I'm so happy we had our wedding here. The preparation for our special day went by flawlessly. Tatra were very responsive and answered my multiple phone calls about every question I asked. The visits, the sampling dinner and all the pre-wedding events were wonderful.It rained on our wedding day so we were very grateful for a wet-weather option on site. Although we booked Tatra for a garden wedding, to have the back up option that still looked beautiful was a big relief for us.The food is fantastic, we had heaps of compliments on all meals and our favourite has to be the sticky date! The drinks package was great, plenty of opportunities for photos around the venue and everything ran to time.Two aspects didn't go to plan:The night before my Sunday wedding, most of the accommodation was booked by my or my husbands family as many of us had travelled >2 hours or interstate. There was another wedding on the Saturday night. They had loud music but I thought they must of paid for an extended package to perhaps midnight to keep going. However, the music kept getting louder and louder til 2am in the morning! Turns out over 50 heavily intoxicated guests partied on loudly in the car park which is immediately infront of the accommodation and had large speakers (placed right next to the window of my aunties room), open alcohol, tables set up, and they were extremely rowdy and disturbing and wouldn't move off the grounds. Some of the guests were scared due to the drunkenness of some of the guests. There was no after hours number to contact Tatra, so my own family had to argue with the crowd at 1am to leave and police were called. As a result, no one got more than 5 hours sleep. Were we compensated at all? No. The venue apologised but that wasn't good enough. Absolutely appalling and if I knew they'd allow this sort of behaviour, I would of never recommended people to stay on site and insisted on an airbnb. Accommodation should of atleast been partially refunded because no one got a restful night sleep due to the selfishness of the Saturday guests and the venue. Perhaps security on site if guests are staying overnight might be an idea? Atleast to prevent anyone else experiencing this like me and my family did.The other issue I had was the MC. We didn't know who it was as it changes from day to day. It was a young woman. Which would of been fine, but she was so quiet no one could hear the announcements! My husband had to grab the mic or just yell and repeat what she said multiple times so guests knew what was going on. When we asked her to speak louder she refused and said she couldn't?? She had a microphone yet myself and my husbands voices were louder? In addition, there was no hype, no excitement in her voice, she just spoke as if she was reading off a list. Very disappointing! If I knew this, I would of outsourced a more lively MC ourselves.These were the only two faults of the venue, so from my personal experience, I'd recommend staying off site if you value rest, and outsource a loud speaking MC with some energy and excitement if that's what you want. But for a venue with wonderful food, gorgeous gardens, options for wet weather, stunning ball room, helpful admin staff, and to take the stress out of coordinating your wedding because they run it like a well oiled machine, Tatra was fantastic. 🙂Edit: since posting this review I have been contacted by the venue. They have apologised for the shortcomings on the night saying they have spoken to the MC we had and given feedback. In regards to the night prior, they sincerely apologised and have let me know all the changes they have made to ensure this never happens again to any future couples as it was the first time it had happened in 20 years.For any future couples, your wedding never goes perfectly, this was 2 out of about 10 things that didn't go to plan on my day. But atleast when you book with Tatra, the team will go over and above to make it right and I think that's alot more care and effort than most!

my Partner and I got married in March 2024 at Tatra. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the venue. The grounds were stunning and the staff were amazing. Nothing was an issue, they were very helpful in accomodating anything we were after. The day ran smoothly and the food was delicious. If i could give 10 stars then I would. Highly Highly recommed.

Lovely venue setting, guest were happy, and some of the office team were lovely particularly Emily. The food was good but one of my guests said that they didn't offer water during cashbar period and overall I have to say that we didn't have a great experience working with this venue.My experience as bride / wedding couple was disappointing when it came to dealing with their processes for management and planning. I don't think this was really the fault of the team members but rather a systemic issue.There were Wasps in the bridal room, and the coordinator showed up but didn't know what was going on and I think the main thing that disapointed me was a lack of communication leading up to the day. I didn't feel their process allowed for enough attention to detail. Particularly on their run sheet and it didn't have much flexibility. When I tried to organized an in person meeting to make it easier, I felt unwelcome, and the person who was going to meet with me hadn't shown up. There was just an ongoing feeling of indifference, complacency, and I felt like just another paycheck to them.For a "Premium" wedding venue as they like to claim I'd say that they didnt follow through with what I'd expect from a venue like this.A shame really because there is so much to love about the gardens and we had a great team of vendors that made our day special.

We had our wedding at Tatra Receptions in Dec, 2023 and it was everything we imagined it would be! Andrew, Dearna and the staff were so helpful in making sure our day went smoothly as possible. It was forecasted for rain during the outside ceremony but we didn't want to make the call on moving it inside until as late as possible and they were so understanding and prepared to move things around if needed. Our wedding day & night went to a tee and it was all possible because the staff at Tatra made it so easy!

From our initial enquiry, to our wedding day, Tatra had been nothing short of INCREDIBLE. Communication was amazing no matter how many silly questions I had, the staff were always super friendly and helpful. The gardens are unlike anything we could have imagined and made us feel like we were in a fairytale. Beautiful location up in the hills. Plenty of space for large functions/weddings. There were 180 people at the wedding I attended. A bit of a trip from the western suburbs, but worth it.

Had an amazing wedding, great communication throughout the planning process. On the day itself it was raining, but with some effort from staff and some luck, we dried the seats for an outdoor ceremony. Food was loved by all and there were no issues, overall running smoothly throughout the entire night.However, the day before the wedding we were told that the music system was outdated and many of the speakers did not work. As we did not have a DJ or band playing, this was a slight issue, as sound quality of the music lacked.We would ask Tatra to invest in a better, updated sound system for future events.Ultimately, we recommend Tatra Receptions to anyone looking for a natural, beautiful venue for a wedding or other large event :)

Very pretty venue and the food was amazing! The accommodation was nice, room and bathroom was massive, with basic tea and coffee and cornflakes for breakfast. Only complaint is the bed, a king bed would be appreciated, the queen looks very small and isn't as comfortable as a larger bed, especially for the $180 per night price tag.

To say Lyrebird Falls stunned and delighted us is an understatement! When we first found out we could have our ceremony outdoors in the beautiful gardens under the gazebo and continue our festivities on the same property, we were thrilled. The reception space was charming and intimate and was decorated elegantly and we booked the day we first saw the beautiful estate!My husband and I were not in the least bit disappointed by the wonderful experience we had with staff and coordinators on the day and we would highly recommend them to anyone we know getting married in the Dandenong Ranges. Our family and friends spoke highly of the venue, staff and the food and commented that everything was absolutely exquisite!

You won't regret it.We booked this venue after falling in love with the outdoor area and booked it because Mikaela was super awesome and we felt it safe hands.Our wedding ended up being ran by Louise and honestly, there is not 1 thing more she could have done. She was perfection 👏Truthfully the person you want running your wedding.Extremely lovely, patience, unscripted and personable. She took care of so many little details we would not have even thought of. We could have been married in an empty field and I would have faith that Louise would make it the best wedding ever.The photos do not do this venue justice and we fell in love the second we stepped foot there. Originally going for the outdoor, we decided to get married in the chapel as it was too stunning not. Could not have picked a better venue for my wedding! The chapel and reception room are so beautiful! And there are so many photo opportunities on site you never have to leave which is super convenient! The staff are so friendly and helpful and wanted to give a shout out to Louise who was our manager on the night and she was impeccable in making sure everything went as planned. We celebrated our wedding at Lyrebird Falls in May 2024,Our wedding coordinator and MC was Jess and we cannot speak more highly of her, she was so kind, accomodating and professional. She communicated with us throughout the day to ensure everything ran smoothly.The team were very attentive and was very kind to bring me my favourite drink throughout the night. I appreciate the staff for doing this.There was so much food, the canapés, the grazing table and sit down dinner were so delicious and the guest were so happy with the food. The gardens during Autumn are so magical. The guest were in awe of the location and how stunning everything was.The day/night was perfect and we were very grateful for Lyrebird Falls for hosting our special day.

Our wedding at Lyrebird Falls was an absolute dream. We loved it as soon as we walked in for our first tour and the staff sealed the deal with their friendliness, professionalism and knowledge of the industry. Throughout planning they responded promptly to all our questions and went out of their way to make sure we had the information we needed to plan our day. The tasting event we attended to help us decide on our menu was amazing, and we would have been happy to serve everything we tasted.We met with our allocated wedding coordinator, Jess, via Zoom (at our request) about a month before our wedding, and she made sure we had a shared understanding of how our day would go, prompting us to think about things that weren't even on our radar. Jess was the perfect mix of warm and professional, and put us at ease that our day was in good hands.It rained on the day of our wedding, and we made a last-minute decision to move our ceremony from the outdoor gazebo to the indoor chapel. Both ceremony spaces are absolutely gorgeous, so there was no hesitation in making this change, and Jess and her team made it happen for us. Jess also acted as our MC for the evening, ensuring that our reception ran smoothly. She and the team made sure to check in with us periodically, to let us know what was coming up and check if we had any questions/requests.Our guests were raving all night about the food that was served. Vegetarians in particular seemed rapt that as much care and effort had been put into their food as the meat-eaters, and they didn't feel like an afterthought. The items we chose from the menu were the tortellini and the calamari salad for entree, and the rosemary lamb and confit duck for mains, with the tortellini and a vegetable curry for the vegetarian options. We opted for the dessert platters that people could snack on during open dancing, which were also a hit.We had initially opted for a guard of honour exit, but towards the end of the night Jess approached us to let us know that they had found some spare sparklers in the back if we wanted to use them for a sparkler exit. This made the end of our night just that little bit more special, and we appreciated the thought.Overall, our experience with Lyrebird Falls was them going above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect, and my only regret is that (fingers crossed!) I will never have occasion to use their services again. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an intimate wedding in beautiful rainforest surrounds.

Where do I begin! Lyrebird falls completely exceeded our expectations and allowed us to have our dream wedding. No request was too much for them and they truly went above and beyond to make our day so special. I would call myself quite unorganised even at the best of times and lyrebird made this whole process so much easier for my husband and I, every single email I sent was replied to super promptly and all of the girls were so helpful. My brother sadly passed away two months before our wedding day and the girls put no pressure on us at all to get things done and really did work around us and for this I am super super grateful. They accommodated us to return to the venue a few times before locking our date in and put no pressure on us to do so (not that there was really any competition, lyrebird was the first venue we went to see and nothing compared). We had multiple people myself included with quite serious allergies and we were accommodated for so easily and for the first time, I didn’t have to feel like I was getting a lesser option due to my allergies and didn’t have to feel terrified I was going to accidentally eat my allergens on our day.I highly highly recommend lyrebird for anyone wanting to get married in the Dandenongs, you will not be disappointed. Another huge shout out to Louise and Rosie for being our coordinators and Louise for being our MC on the day, you both made the day go smoothly and put Matt and I at ease.

I can’t believe I've finished this blog, even though I stopped writing a few times because I wasn't satisfied with the first one and two version, and when I shared it with my colleague James, another talented wedding photographer in Melbourne, Chloe who is my high school classmate, and a bride-to-be, and Matt, Chloe’s fiancé.
