Most couples, actually around 65%, who get married in Australian choose the wedding ceremony as the most important piece of their weddings. To tie the knot with your loved one, prepare a thoughtful selection of romantic and emotional wedding ceremony songs are essential. Below is a wedding industry insider’s guide on how to find your perfect wedding ceremony music
Australia is an immigration country and my city – Melbourne is known as one of the most famous multi-cultural city in the world. When it comes to wedding ceremony songs, things are going a bit complex. People from different communities will honour some of the wedding traditions and combined with some Australia trends.
No matter you are organizing a wedding ceremony outdoors, under a Marquee or in a stunning church. There are 3 major steps for music choice.
1. Wedding Ceremony Processional Songs
A Never Wrong Choice – “A Thousand Years”
This is a song I keep listening in the past 7 years when I capture weddings. I would say more than 1/3 couple I captured use this song during their wedding ceremony. There is definitely a reason why people keep use of this song.
This song now has a bit different versions for your weddings. If you prepare to tie the knot outdoors or in a chapel, the official version by Christina Perri is my recommendation.
If you are getting married in a church, an instrument cover would be more suitable. Below is my favourite one with piano and cello. Please remember to check with your priest to see whether we can play this song as the rules are different from Parish to Parish.
For A Beach Wedding – “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”
When you are organizing your wedding ceremony at somewhere close to the ocean. I would definitely recommend this song by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
Something A Bit Emotional – “Marry Me By Train”
This one was years ago when I capture one of my close friends’ wedding. As a friend who knows their love story, this song makes me shooting with a bit of tear in my eyes. This song is something truly touch your heart when you play it at a wedding ceremony.
The Traditional Choice – “Canon In D Major By Johann Pachelbel”
This is definitely one of the most popular wedding ceremony entrance song, no matter for a Catholic wedding or an outdoor wedding. Below is my favourite instrument version.
A Combine of Classic and Modern – “Bridal March by Vicent Avella”
The Pop Song Choice – “Beautiful In White by Shane Filan”
With Shane Filan’s beautiful voice, this song is a truly romantic song. I am sorry to be a bit biased as I am a fan of Westlife since school time.
2. Wedding Ceremony Ongoing Songs
Popular Choices When the Registry by A Civil Celebrant
When you tie the knot with a celebrant, you have a bit more range to choose your registry songs. Below are the songs I keep listening on a wedding ceremony in the past 7 years.
