Wonderful experience, the attentive service from the exceptionally lovely staff made the whole night. It was like watching a theatrical performance, they were so in sync. Every dish was a work of art, though some of the flavours were a bit strong/adventurous for our taste buds. The kitchen tour was a nice touch, and the views up there are breathtaking!
Phenomenal experience from start to finish! We've never had more attentive servers (with at least 3 servers attending to our evety need), and the 13 courses were unique and delicious, with some of the courses also coming with a dash of theatre! We were extremely fortunate to receive not only a kitchen tour but to have one of the dessert courses served on a private balcony behind the kitchen, served to us by none other than Executive Chef Hugh Allen, an experience unlike any other and that my wife was particularly thrilled about! If we could give more than 5 stars we would, but we'll settle for 5... I'd like to say it was a once in a lifetime experience, but if my wife has anything to do with it, we'll be back!

First time diners and we have listened for many years as we've been told, this is not a meal, this is an experience.The advice is correct.From the greeting at the front door, to the farewell at the end of the experience, and the day after touches. (And I won't deliver the spoiler alert!)Particular points we enjoyed:There is a synergy in the staff, a question asked of one, is referenced in the next conversation with a different team member. When we paused a team member to engage them in conversation, another team member would slip by, remove whatever our conversationalist was carrying and deliver that to its destination.Knowledge was shared in a collegiate manner - there was never a sense that "we should have known that".
Vue de Monde in Melbourne is an exceptional fine dining experience. The food is innovative and beautifully presented, with every detail carefully considered. The views are stunning, and the service is top-notch. Definitely worth it for a special occasion!
Very good in a way. Clean looking dishes, structured favors, powerful presence show case what they are. Not very happy in another way, some dishes are overpowered to express them individually but not working well as a compressive course. Desserts are relatively weak for fine dinning at this level, perhaps the 1st half was too powerful which took the attention away. The skyline view of Melbourne can be a compensation to relax at the end with a coffee..Wine pairing ok, not something too exciting, good enough for what they were for.
as a first timer i had no clue what to expect but wow wow wow! words can’t describe how amazing this experience is, how special the staff make you feel and how spectacular the dishes are. my mum and i had the pleasure of being mainly served by Ben and Fergus and couldn’t have wished for better professionals in their fields - Ben was so outgoing and friendly and Fergus knew wines better than i know myself. had been planning this date for a while as a treat for my mum who has been many times, and she wasn’t wrong when she said it is an experience like no other - thank you so so much vue de monde team for you work, and for a very late but very merry christmas present 💜💜💜
Everything about VDM is exceptional. From the moment you step in, the ambiance sets a perfect tone. The food is outstanding. The tables are well-arranged, and the staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. I could go on and on about the details. I have been here several times, and each visit has been memorable. The consistency in quality and service is impressive. At $360 per person, I genuinely believe it’s excellent value for the exceptional product and experience you receive. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit.
This was the most incredible fine dining experience I have ever had. For months we had been planning this day. Initially it was meant to be a surprise for two then it turned into a 5 party lunch. Regardless. Nicole, Matt and Raj made this day unforgettable. Weather it was the food, the wine pairing, the attentiveness or taking us out to our own private dining area for one meal. One of our party was hungover so they brought out a borocca and aspirin masked as ‘wine pairing’. From the bottom to the top this day was unforgettable. Thankyou so much, I cannot reiterate how incredible this experience was. THANKYOU to the back of house team, front of house team and the chefs. Truly one of the best days of my life.
This was definitely the best dining experience I've ever had. I came to celebrate my birthday with four friends, and we had an unforgettable time. Nicole, Matt, and Raj elevated our evening with their expertise and friendly attitude, making it truly special. From start to finish, everything was perfect. Cannot recommend enough.
This venue changed my entire opinion on fine dining- I went in with the expectation that a place like this would be gatekeepy in terms of it’s clientele, however I was blown away by the service from Nicole and Matt. Absolutely the most incredible dining experience we’ve had, and we’ve been to many best restaurants around the world. Food was exceptional, service was outstanding - the staff’s attention to detail and care was beyond. Ambience was beautiful and the open kitchen was just stunning. Could not fault it.

We went there for Easter, the food was definitely very good and a beautiful presentationService was great and very attentive (without me even saying anything they swapped side for my cutlery)They do alternative food for dietary requirements, even the desserts as you can see from the photos of the petite fours in the small box for me and the large one for the rest of the table (had a small accident with the ice cream but all in all was a very good experience)
We attended Vue de monde for lunch on 12 April 2024 and were overwhelmed with the incredibly attentive and professionalism of the staff. The food (14 courses) was outstanding and the entire lunch was a theatrical experience in a wonderful way in which each meal was presented. Overall very impressive and one that will leave a lasting positive memory.
Me and Wife had a great time at Vue de Monde. From the time you enter, every single person or the team greets you with a smile and makes every effort to make the experience faboluos. We had the Chefs tasting menu, which we loved. It was very carefully planned, highlighting Australian produce. Tastes amazing. Highly recommended. Will visit again.
It’s such a nice and unforgettable experience we had here for a birthday dinner. Beautiful food presentations, excellent services and wonderful atmosphere from both within restaurant and outdoor views. A bit expensive but counted number of staff on duty it really worth the cost. Guests are happy to be engaged with the making of deserts and live cooking.

We feed our imagination and take a walk through the Botanic Gardens, rooted in our seats. Visually this is what dining at Vue de Monde feels like; an artist’s impression of garden scenes with the plate as a canvas.Chocolate pralines are disguised like gum nuts dangling off a eucalyptus leaf. Like a terrarium in a dinosaur egg, we dig past a wreath of cucumber, caviar and kelp jelly into a creamy well of smoked eel tofu. In a Japanese pond we fish for lightly dried tomatoes, swimming beneath floating nasturtium leaves in soup. We are invited to play, crushing flower petals to the gush of liquid nitrogen, the sensations rather like the crunch of crisp autumn leaves under our feet.If the food evokes imagination by sight, then the taste does it more than adequate justice. There is an underlying thread of sublime elegance, perfect execution and a beautiful balance of taste and textures that can only come from a consummate master in the kitchen. This kitchen we get to tour as part of our dining experience, getting up-close to chefs at work at their various stations.Service leaves an impression. We came to celebrate our anniversary, and a passing remark to one waitress about the number of years we have been married is thoughtfully passed on and reflected in a greeting card, signed by all staff at the restaurant. Chefs wish us “Happy Anniversary” as we walk through the kitchen.Where we think Vue de Monde can do better is in the consistency of service standards, bearing in mind this is a three-hatted restaurant (Australia’s equivalent of 3 Michelin stars). Many waiting staff were highly engaging, but a few were evidently going through the motion, revealing a lack of enthusiasm to be present. Noise travels and is amplified in the restaurant, making it hard to hear introductions of dishes. Wine list is extensive but so are the mark-ups.But change is coming, and as Vue de Monde closes this winter for renovations, we hope this period of reflection will fix some of these issues to be truly worthy of a top-class restaurant.*This visit was made at the end of May 2023.
A truly wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive, you are in a perfect food world. The team are engaging, the food is delightful, the view spectacular. 13 courses, and never rushed. What an exquisite fine dining experience! Enjoyed a Friday lunch with family overlooking the north east on a beautiful sunny winter day. Staff were brilliant, food was great and the location top notch (no pun intended). Can't wait to see what it is like after the renovations.
We got a gift certificate from a friend for our wedding. What a great gift! Everything about this meal was extraordinary from the view, to the service, ambiance, and of course the food! Everything was locally sourced and innovative. We even got a tour of the kitchen and the chefs and staff were so much fun! An experience of a life time.
