Natalie and Alon’s Jewish wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Timber Yard in Port Melbourne. Being their Melbourne city wedding photographer, I captured lots of loving moments of the sweet couples on their wedding day as well as their Jewish traditions. See the wedding photography below to join Natalie and Alon’s wedding story.

The Timber Yard as a Melbourne Wedding Venue
Located in the Port Melbourne, the Timber Yard stands as a one-of-a-kind wedding reception with a touch of rustic and industrial vibe. The yard is a large turfed outdoor area that covers an immensely 1000 square meter lounge area which can either be used for wedding ceremony or simply for the guests to mingle and chill out.
As a Melbourne city wedding photographer, what I love about taking wedding photography at the Timber Yard is the amount of stunning wedding photography opportunities this venue provides directly onsite. At the right side of the venue, you will find the wood store, the large concreted and undercover space also comes with a rustic backdrop of timber logs inside the steel cage. At the centre of the venue, you will also find the workshop, together with several red container boxes, this large symmetrically designed warehouse offers an industrial and minimalistic backdrop for stunning wedding photography.
OUR STORY WITH THE COUPLE:
We met with the lovely couple earlier this year and it was great knowing the couple fell in love with our style of wedding photography at the very beginning. With many years of experience from capturing weddings in the Melbourne city and surrounding, without too much words, we quickly managed to stand on the same page of the style we after.
The Wedding getting ready: our Melbourne city wedding photographer started his day by capturing our fun and beautiful bride Natalie’s morning getting ready. accompanied by her mum, we captured some stunning touch up photos and Natalie dressing up in her beautiful gown.
The wedding ceremony: our groom Alon arrived at the venue early in order to do the Tish. In Jewish culture, the groom’s tish means a celebration of the groom with his male friends, while they are celebrating the wedding, they will also grab some drinks. After capturing the Tish, our wedding photographer then proceeded to capture the Bedeken, which is probably one of the most emotional moments on a Jewish wedding day where the groom sees the bride for the first day after 7 days of not seeing each other, then he will veil the bride symbolizing the love of her inner beauty.
The wedding reception: after the couple was married as official husband and wife, the actual celebration then began. Started with the Jewish horah dance where our groom and bride gather in circles, our Melbourne wedding photographer captured lots of fun moments and action shots of the guests partying.
