Quat Quatta as a Melbourne wedding venue
Quat Quatta is a beautiful mansion, first constructed in the Victorian era. It is rich in history and beauty. Just 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD in the St Kilda/Brighton area it has enough space for 160 guests. There are so many reasons to fall in love with the venue. It has a beautiful courtyard which will make for some excellent wedding snaps. With the hedging, festoon lighting, it has quite a magical atmosphere. The bronze fountain and original marble veranda are the perfect setting for your wedding ceremony or pre-dinner drinks.
As a Melbourne city wedding photographer who has captured quite often in Quat Quatta, what I love about this unique wedding venue is its beautiful ballroom with high ceiling, mood lighting and light drapery, which creates a contemporary and minimalist setting for your special occasion. The courtyard is the ideal location for pre-dinner canapes and drinks while you celebrate with your family and friends.
The wedding reception venue starts with a white staircase, hanging lights and soft decor. With a long table there is space for your entire wedding party. If you’re in the mood for a dance then the dance floor is the perfect space.
Our story with the couple
The wedding getting ready: Our Melbourne wedding photographer had a great time with Ashleigh and Dimitri as they got ready for their special day. Before the ceremony, they went to their separate areas and got ready. Even as they were getting ready it looked as though they were having a lot of fun, which we were able to photograph. The bridal party even had two canines join in on the fun and we were able to catch a candid moment of the bride’s mother chatting to her before the ceremony. This special moment was captured in both black and white as well as colour.
Ashleigh and Dimitri took advantage of the hedging as the location where they would take their vows and used it as a setting for the photography.
The groom’s party wore dark navy suits with rosettes on their shoulders and were overjoyed on the day. Meanwhile the bridal party wore light camel coloured dresses and a grey shawl. The wedding bouquets were minimalist and the bride and groom celebrated with their wedding party outside as they shared their first kiss.
The wedding ceremony: They had a fun time and later took photos underneath the trees, which suited the bridal party’s colour palette.
The wedding photo location: The couple exchanged vows underneath the festoon lighting with their friends and family on either side before making their way to the ballroom for their first dance as husband and wife. We were able to capture these moments that included them and their guests.
The wedding reception at Quat Quatta: Their joy could not be contained as they cut their three-tier wedding cake during the reception. The wedding cake kept with the nature theme and was adorned with floral decorations.
