I had a poor experience when I did a walk in for wine tasting. I didn’t book ahead as it was a weekday and it mentioned “walk ins welcome”.There was only one staff and already two pairs doing wine tasting when I enquired about available slots. She obliged stoically, and started pouring out our first glass right at the spot where I enquired but there was only one bar stool and my partner had to pull up his own. After the first glass of Sauvignon and explanation, we waited a long while even after we finished as she attended to the other two groups. I felt somewhat neglected, though I can partly understand as she was only one person and we didn’t chase and decided to just take it slow.Then, she came back and poured a glass of rosé, which I noticed didn’t follow the sequence on the explanation but I thought maybe it wasn’t necessary to follow that order. And then some more wait. Along the way, another group came in and another of her colleague stepped in to let us throw our third glass, which was a Pinot. And after we were done, he was going to the Cabernet Sauvignon, when I pointed out we missed out on the Chardonnay. He then apologised and nicely offered us two different Chardonnay to make up for it.The first lady staff later came back to pour us our last Cabernet Sauvignon and also apologised for missing out on the Chardonnay in her elegant, stoic manner.In the end, we got a bottle of wine but again waited a while before we got attention to make payment. Maybe we shouldn’t have bothered.I feel bad and neglected about the experience. I understand I have to wait my turn as there were other groups but seemed like the other groups received better attention. If they were really overwhelmed, they could let me know a better timing when they were available or simply informed me they were fully booked. I would understand and there are other places I could go to. It just seemed like they were not very interested in us for whatever reason.+++11 Oct: Thank you for your attention to my review and I appreciate your response.To clarify, no fees were waived, we paid for the wine tasting sessions for the both of us (I wouldn’t think the additional glass of wine would be considered a waiver, since it was given to us and we did not ask for it). 🥂
Had a lovely lunch with our 18month old. The food was beautiful (set menu $120) as well as the sweeping views to accompany the delicious food + wine. The staff were great and very knowledgeable on the wines and they were also very accommodating with our baby and prepared her meal as soon as we got there and brought a colouring pad too. We would highly recommend Oakridge Wines in Yarra Valley and we cant wait to head back.
Omg, truly an amazing experience . I had the 4 course vegetarian option and it has to be one of the best meals I have eaten.Very generous portions , felt like I was eating a wholesome home made meal . Compliments to the staff and Chef.The 3 time cooked “Maris piper potatoes , smoked garlic smoke bush “ were sensational !! Paired wines are perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant, the view over the vineyard is pretty special too. A must if you’re in the area.
Attended the fireside festival dinner hosted by Oakridge. It was such a warming and cosy experience. We sat down with strangers and enjoyed a festive meal. The wine pairing was outstanding. What a great and unique experience!

We've been to Oakridge quite a few times and have enjoyed it very much. Courses are ample, this time we decided to have the 2 course menu and still walked out FULL. Our waiter, Eve, was great, she loves her job and that reflects onto the patron. We will be definitely going back.....again!!

Great experience. Main dishes need a little bit more thought. Enjoyed the starters on the set menu such as the mushroom dish,roasted butternut squash and beetroot with labna.Main were a bit iffy… hubby didn’t enjoy the Roo and my pork belly was just average.All in all a lovely experience but would recommend a bit more character with the mains.
We’ve been coming to Oakridge for quite a few years now. It has been our choice for special occasions. We have always looked forward to it and have always left very happy with the excellent food and service. Except for today. It was not busy and we are generally very understanding about service. Got seated then…nothing, not even water for 20 mins until we asked, and watching other tables being served around us. Was quite odd, felt like no one wanted to serve us. The rest of service was clumsy and subpar, and was left pretty underwhelmed by the food too. Not the usual standard we are used to here. Left really annoyed. We have plenty of better options if this is the new normal.
Oakridge Wines winery is arguably one of the best wineries in the Yarra. The views are incredible, the service is impeccable and the experience is unforgettable.
Oakridge was our first stop in the Yarra Valley and we are certainly glad it was. We booked the tasting in advance but it looked like they had some available for walk ins as well. The scenery is beautiful and the wine is even better, so great that we bought a couple bottles to fly back to the US with… and when we got home, it was confirmed that we still loved this wine!
My wife Rosie and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Oakridge today and thoroughly enjoyed the environment, the ambience, the wonderful waitresses, plus the delightful food and wine. Probably the best meal we have had in many years. We had a 2 course and 3 course meal (shared the dessert), plus selected our own wines for each course. The entree was overwhelming - 5 dishes that we shared and each very tastefully prepared with my favorite being the warm just baked bread and local olive oil. Our mains were just perfect, lamb for Rosie and smoked ocean trout for me. Perfect balance, not too large (after those entrees) and enjoyable to the last mouthful. Our first dining at Oakridge and hopefully not our last. Plus the wines were excellent. Well done guys and gals. Top marks from us.

Must come here n try the lunch and wine pairing!! Service was top notch. The star of the meal was actually the freshly inhouse baked bread with the homemade butter, absolutely to die for!!!! I love the fact that whenever possible ingredients are either house grown or house made. Everything is so fresh! Portions were very generous with the view of the gorgeous vineyards. Came here to celebrate my birthday with my family, and had an amazing time. The food was exquisite, our favorite was the trout and the asparagus. Our waitresses were lovely and very attentive, constantly checking up on us! Overall, 10/10 experience.

Wonderful dining experience for Father’s Day! Food and service was faultless. The starting platters are delightful and I had the Murray Cod for mains and hubby had the pork. I particularly liked my dessert of toasted brioche with ice cream. Impeccable… Such a wonderful setting. Wines fabulous. Thank you.

We found out Oakridge Winery became the Winery of the year in Australia in 2023, so we drove past one day when we came to Yarra Valley and decided to come and pay a visit on the way back home...the environment and scenery is spectacular...my wife did the wine tasting and apparently wines are really good too! Highly recommended!
Great wines and great food although I'm not convinced that the chef's menu was value for money. Fresh produce and ingredients, but lacking any sort of wow factor. It's a good meal, but nothing truly special. Would come back for the wines.
The staffs are very friendly especially the young lady and the manager who served us today. The food is delicious and the white wine that we ordered is good! My mum had a great time today as we came here to celebrate her birthday. We are so happy with the food, wine and the service provided! Thank you!
