Half Acre as a Melbourne Wedding Venue
Tucked away in South Melbourne, helmed by the famous caterer Food and desire, you will find the true hidden gem wedding venue: Half Acre. Located on the corner of Munro Street, you will find the venue occupying the block with its unique wall and entry, as well as stunning street and lanes for awesome wedding photography backdrops.
Walking into the Half Acre, you will find the venue itself is built under the warehouse structure, retaining lots of essence from the industrial complex which you can tell easily from the roof, wall as well as flooring. There are mainly two areas within the Half Acre which are the ceremony/cocktail area on the left and the dining room on the right. Before the evening reception commences, a curtain is setup to block the areas.
As a Melbourne wedding photographer who based exactly in South Melbourne, I love capturing weddings at the Half Acre for its prime position as well as excellent backdrops for wedding photography. Set next to the Westgate Freeway and Docklands, this allows easy transportation for couples between ceremony and reception trips. On the other side, the laneway and secret garden of the venue provides endless opportunities for stunning wedding photography.
OUR STORY WITH THE COUPLE:
We met with the lovely couple earlier this year and it was great knowing the couple fell in love with our style of wedding photography at the very beginning. With many years of experience from capturing weddings at the Melbourne city, without too much words, we quickly managed to stand on the same page of the style we after.
The morning getting ready: our Melbourne wedding photographer started their day by capturing the our bride and groom David Priscilla’s morning getting ready photos. After some shots for their accessories to wear on the day, we gather the boys and girls for some drinks to boost the vibe a bit, before they finally jumping into their suits and dresses for the big day.
The wedding ceremony: the couple said ‘I do’ in front of their family and friends at the Cathedral in South Melbourne. during the wedding ceremony, our Melbourne wedding photographer Nick captured lots of emotional and genuine moments of the couple and their families.
The wedding photo location: after the wedding ceremony, we then took the couple and their bridal party for a fun bridal wedding photo session in the Melbourne CBD at locations such as the Parliament House as well as the Victoria Barracks.
