Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of meeting the affectionate couple, and we were delighted to learn that they were enamored with our approach to wedding photography from the outset. With years of experience documenting weddings in Melbourne city, we found ourselves easily aligned with the style they desired, without the need for extensive discussion.
The wedding getting ready:
Our Melbourne city wedding photographer kicked off the day by capturing the couple’s getting ready moments alongside their friends and families in a hotel room, before they embarked on their journey to the exquisite Aunty Kim’s. Despite the bustling activity of the bride’s preparations, our seasoned wedding photographer adeptly captured numerous natural and candid moments.
The wedding ceremony: The civil ceremony took place at Aunty Kim’s in Collingwood, where Evelyn and Steele also observed a traditional tea ceremony. During this ritual, the couple served tea to both sets of parents, and in return, received blessings in the form of money or jewels from their parents and elderly relatives. This sacred tea ceremony symbolized the bestowing of blessings for happiness and prosperity upon the couple.
The wedding photo location:
Unlike typical wedding day schedules, the bride and groom opted to have location photoshoots before the civil and tea ceremonies to minimize waiting time for their guests. Consequently, the couple chose to capture their wedding photos at Fitzroy Gardens, conveniently situated between the hotel and wedding venue. Beginning at the iconic Conservatory, a landmark within the gardens, we embarked on the photoshoot, followed by candid shots amidst the lush greenery. The weather cooperated splendidly, allowing us to capture numerous precious moments for the newlyweds.
